Photoelectric ball builds a "smart defense line" for airport security

As the first rays of morning light pierce the clouds, planes on the airport runway slowly glide toward the sky. As night falls, the terminal continues to bustle with people. Every takeoff and landing, every movement of people, is crucial for safety. In modern airport operations, comprehensive, all-weather security monitoring, as well as precise responses to unexpected risks like bird strikes and drone intrusions, are core issues in safety management. The onick spherical photoelectric turntable—a professional device integrating core modules such as infrared sensors, laser rangefinders, and visible light cameras—is using cutting-edge technology to create a three-dimensional "safety net" for airports worldwide. It easily identifies, detects, tracks, and locates vehicles, drones, and personnel, and reports critical information on demand, fully meeting airport safety management needs.

Round-the-clock surveillance: Making every corner of the airport "visible and clear"

From the apron and runway to the terminal and perimeters, every area of the airport requires 24-hour uninterrupted security. Traditional surveillance systems are limited by viewing angles, lighting, and weather conditions, making full scene coverage difficult. However, the onick photoelectric dome camera, with its 360° rotation and -5° to +75° pitch, combined with multispectral imaging technology, easily overcomes this challenge.

Photoelectric ball builds a "smart defense line" for airport security

The 4K HD CMOS color camera (25-100mm dual-field zoom) captures clear details in both scorching sun and torrential rain. The 640×512 uncooled focal plane infrared thermal imager (35mmF1.2 focal length) accurately identifies object outlines even in low-light conditions, ensuring complete surveillance coverage. More importantly, the built-in 1535nm±5nm laser rangefinder can measure the range of a 4.0m drone to ≥3km with an accuracy of ±1m, quickly locking onto the target distance and providing precise data for decision-making.

Powered by a high-performance image processing module, the onick photoelectric ball can track targets as small as 6×6 pixels or smaller, maintain stable tracking even with a contrast ratio of 5% or less, and maintain a tracking frequency of 50Hz or more. It can automatically identify risks such as crowds and vehicles blocking the road. It also boasts a speed measurement accuracy of 2% or less (or 2 km/s) and a positioning accuracy of 5m (CEP). Any anomalies immediately trigger an alarm and synchronize with the command center, transforming "passive response" into "proactive prevention" and significantly improving management efficiency. Furthermore, the device supports self-diagnosis, fault notifications, and online software upgrades, continuously adapting to evolving airport security needs.

Precise Bird Strike Prevention: Providing an "Invisible Umbrella" for Flight Takeoff and Landing

Bird strikes are a major threat to aviation safety, costing over $1.5 billion annually worldwide. The onick photoelectric ball excels in bird strike prevention, seamlessly cooperating with airport radar. With a maximum tracking speed of 60°/s in azimuth and elevation, it quickly locks onto bird targets and initiates high-definition tracking.

A combination of infrared and visible light cameras clearly identifies birds, while a laser rangefinder accurately measures distance and provides feedback on target attitude information such as pitch and yaw angles. Leveraging a differential Beidou positioning and orientation module (with orientation accuracy ≤0.2° RMS), the onick repelling device precisely targets bird areas, avoiding interference with surrounding areas and creating an invisible protective umbrella for flight takeoffs and landings.

Counter-UAV Control: Protecting Airports' Clear Airspace Lifeline

Illegal drones that intrude into airport clear airspace pose a significant threat. The onick photoelectric ball provides a precise solution. It can track drones ≥4m in length with infrared tracking at ranges of ≥1500m and visible light tracking at ranges of ≥2500m. It can also identify multi-rotor drones 1.5m x 0.4m in length with AI at ranges of ≥1km. It can also clearly capture the model and status of drones as small as a palm from up to 3km away.

Combining dynamic trajectory prediction algorithms with speed and positioning capabilities, the onick photoelectric ball can proactively determine whether a drone has intruded into the clear airspace. Upon detection, it immediately activates jamming equipment to force the drone back home. More importantly, the device measures ≤Φ182mm×250mm and weighs ≤5kg, allowing for flexible deployment at key airport locations, effectively safeguarding airspace security.

Stable and Reliable: A "Hard-Core Strength" to Adapt to Complex Airport Environments

Airport environments are complex, placing extremely high demands on device stability. The onick photoelectric dome operates in temperatures from -20°C to +60°C and stores in temperatures from -40°C to +60°C, ensuring stable operation in both extremes of cold and heat. With an IP66 protection rating, it effectively resists rain, dust, and other environmental hazards. It also meets all transportation vibration and shock requirements, ensuring safe installation and operation.

The interface and power consumption also meet airport requirements: one network video interface (H.264/H.265 encoding) and one RS422 serial port easily integrate with existing systems. Operating at 24V±6V DC and with an average power consumption of ≤25W, it reduces operating costs and avoids additional power supply burdens.

From all-weather monitoring to bird strike prevention and counter-drone control, the onick spherical optoelectronic turntable, with its comprehensive coverage, all-time response, and robust specifications and environmental adaptability, has become a "smart partner" for modern airport security operations. Going forward, onick will continue to deepen its expertise in optoelectronic technology, providing superior products and solutions to safeguard every flight's safe takeoff and landing, contributing to global aviation safety.
